cantha or tyria
i'm making a warrior, after not having one for a couple months (did pvp for most skills) is there an advantage to making a tyrian warrior vs. a canthan warrior, like skill wise or something, or is it the other way around or what?

The only advantage to a Canthan warrior is that you are able to choose from two more secondary professions (the Ritualist, and the Assasin) - So choose based on that, or if you know Tyria better than Cantha, if I were to start a new character I think I would go Tyria again as i've played it before to 20.

You can level your new character on the starter island in Cantha quicker then a Tyrian. The quests payout huge exp. You can hit 16-20 from the starter Island pretty easily in a matter of hours, whereas it was a bit harder to hit those levels in the same time.
I did used to make level 20 characters in a day before factions as well, but it seems quicker and easier still from Cantha.
Best of luck to ya.

Since you have played before, its like riding a bike, you never forget how. So my suggestion is to play in Canthas. The reason is, more options (as said before, Assassin and Ritualists have now been added). Quicker to get to level 20. The same amount of skills (number wise) will be given to you in a much shorter time, but you may not get the same skills as you would from Tyria.
With the new patch, you can get a material storage from the First city (I'm not sure if that option is available in Tyria).
I think you need to get to the mainland in Factions to get runes of holding, while in Tyria, you just need to get to post-war.
Certain elites are easier to get to in Canthas than they are in Tyria (hundred blades for example). It is also easier and quicker (unless you get runners) to get to Lion's Arch from Canthas than from Tyria.
Which ever you choose, good luck to you.

u can easily get a character past lvl 10 before u choose a second profession. to be cheap, just make a char in factions and take it to lions arch and do the tyria campain first.

Some Canthans can look like Tryianif you pick the right face and hair colour and skin tone.

Pick canthian due to theres less to do and you lvl quicker, and also theres the easy option in senjis corner for changing your profession without having to do a 5 min mission.
I made a canthian warrior and had him at lvl 20 in about 2 days, you could do it quicker probs as its so easy xD

After doing a couple newbie missions on the island just trade your monestary credits for bags, and runes of holding. Bag = 1 credit, Rune of Hold = 3.
Additionally, do the little quest for the belt pouch soon as you need it. All comes very quick and almost FREE =)
Main reason I don't like making a canthan for most part is that I don't prefer being nearly forced to make them asian. The option, which I did use, is nice, but 95% of the faces??.... bit overboard on the themeatics; The non-asian I found have a butt-ugly dopey look too.
